Annex 3 Description of the process:
Ø This plant is of MS purification, circular air booster and turbine expander. Production oxygen, nitrogen delivers out of cold box woth pressure.
Ø Raw air goes to air filter for removal of dust and mechanical impurity and enters oil free air compressor where air is compressed to 0.61MPaA. Then it goes into air precooling system, where air is cooled to 17 ℃. After that, it flows to 2 molecular sieve adsorbing tank, which are running in turn, to be got removal of H2O, CO2 and C2H2. The 2 adsorption tanks runs in turn, when one is working, the other is heated to be regenerative.
After purified, processed air is divided into 3 streams. One little part is used for instrument air. One part goes to circular booster, which is cooled by cooling water to be normal temperature. Then it is divied to 2 parts. Part of it goes to main heat exchanger to be cooled by reflux, liquid oxygen and nitrogen with pressure; Then it is sucked to expansion turbine, after being expanded, which goes to lower column for rectification. The other part of flows to main heat exchanger after being boosted and cooled. Then it is cooled by relux, after that, it flows to lower column after being throttled.Ø After primary rectification in lower column, liquid air and pure liquid nitrogen can be collected in lower column. It is rectified in upper column again, after that, liquid oxygen of 99.6% purity can be collected at the bottom of upper column
Ø Liquid oxygen in the main cooler is boosted to 3.1MPa(G), then it goes to main heat exchanger. It is deliverd out of cold box as production oxygen after being vaporized
Ø Part of liquid nitrogen is sucked to be boosted to 1.63MPA, then it goes to main heat exchanger. After that, it is delivered out of the cold box as production
Ø Part of argon fraction in upper column is sucked to crude argon column. There are 2 parts of crude argon column. The reflux of second part is delivered to the top of first one via liquid pump as reflux. It is rectified in crude argon column to get 99.5% Ar. 2ppm O2 crude argon. Then it is delivered to the middle of pure argon column via evaporator. After rectification in pure argon column, (99.999%Ar) liquid argon can be collected at the bottom of pure argon column.
