Hole Openers
Hole Openers are used to enlarge the diameter of a pre-drilled
hole. They are custom built to specification, and come in a wide
variety of sizes. A Hole Opener is sometimes referred to as a
Reamer.
We are proud of the quality and workmanship of our custom built Hole Openers. All Hole Openers can be quoted with new/unused surplus or used Steel Tooth or TCI Cutters, as well as Hammer Bit Hole Openers.
DRILLING TYPE UNDERREAMER (DTU)
The Roschen DTU Underreamer has gone through several changes and
modifications to adapt to the ever changing drilling applications
and environments.
Features and Benefits:
1. Long proven history with over 2.5 million feet underreamed
worldwide.
2. Expansion ratios 70% and larger than the OD of the body.
3. Hydraulically expandable with pump pressure.
4. Cutter arms move upward and out simultaneously in the body.
5. Reverse actuating mechanism maintains that tool is open while
drill string weight prohibits tool closure.
6. Roller cone cutters are specifically designed for the ROSCHEN
DTU underreamers and are consistent with down hole diameters.
7. Proprietary internal "cage" inside of roller cone cutters
reduces wear and increases the life of the cutter.
8. Body machined from heat-treated steel bar, giving it exceptional
strength.
9. Jet nozzles near the cutters allow for cutter washing and
cooling.
